class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>La Reserva Natural del Estuario del Tajo (RNET) est\u00e1 formada por unos dos tercios de aguas estuarinas y abarca territorio perteneciente a los municipios de Alcochete, Benavente y Vila Franca de Xira.<\/p><p><strong>Zonas protegidas<\/strong><\/p><p>Desde su nacimiento en Espa\u00f1a, en la Sierra de Albarrac\u00edn, hasta su desembocadura cerca de Lisboa, el Tajo recorre 1.100 kil\u00f3metros, lo que lo convierte en el mayor r\u00edo que atraviesa Portugal.<\/p><p>La Reserva Natural del Estuario del Tajo tiene una superficie de <strong>14.416,21 ha<\/strong>, que incluye una extensa zona de aguas estuarinas, campos de vasa recortados por cisternas, mouch\u00f5es, marismas saladas y tierras agr\u00edcolas de aluvi\u00f3n (lez\u00edrias). Regi\u00f3n muy productiva en poliquetos, moluscos y crust\u00e1ceos, es una aut\u00e9ntica maternidad para varias especies de peces, como el lenguado y la lubina. Entre las especies sedentarias t\u00edpicas de los estuarios, destacan el rubio de arena y el camar\u00f3n moruno. Para los peces migratorios, como la lamprea, la savelha y la anguila, el Tajo es un lugar de transici\u00f3n entre el medio marino y el fluvial.   <\/p><p>Sin embargo, es la avifauna acu\u00e1tica la que confiere al estuario del Tajo el estatus de humedal m\u00e1s importante del pa\u00eds y uno de los m\u00e1s importantes de Europa. De hecho, el n\u00famero de especies invernantes alcanza unos 120.000 individuos. Los recuentos peri\u00f3dicos indican que m\u00e1s de 10.000 an\u00e1tidas y 50.000 lim\u00edcolas invernan en esta Reserva Natural, entre las que destaca la avoceta com\u00fan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icnf.pt\/api\/file\/doc\/0bbb47bb91004fac\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Recurvirostra avosetta<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. Muchas otras especies tambi\u00e9n atestiguan la riqueza biol\u00f3gica y el valor de conservaci\u00f3n de la naturaleza de esta regi\u00f3n, como el flamenco <a class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>El r\u00edo Sorraia es un r\u00edo portugu\u00e9s que nace en la parroquia de Cou\u00e7o y resulta de la uni\u00f3n de dos arroyos, el r\u00edo Sor y el r\u00edo Raia. Es el afluente del r\u00edo Tajo con la mayor cuenca hidrogr\u00e1fica (7730 km\u00b2), recibiendo varios arroyos a lo largo de su curso, siendo los principales los arroyos Erra, Divor y Juliano, y cerca de Porto Alto recibe el r\u00edo Almansor.<\/p><p>A lo largo de los siglos ha desempe\u00f1ado un papel vital para la regi\u00f3n, y la historia nos cuenta que romanos y \u00e1rabes se asentaron aqu\u00ed, utilizando su agua para los campos de cultivo y como medio de comunicaci\u00f3n, para exportar los productos cultivados en las f\u00e9rtiles tierras del Valle de Sorraia, donde desarrollaron ingeniosos sistemas de riego que a\u00fan se utilizan.<\/p><p>El Sorraia pasa por las localidades de Coruche y Benavente y desemboca en el r\u00edo Tajo en Ponta da Erva, cerca de Vila Franca, tras recorrer unos 155 kil\u00f3metros. Nace cerca de Arraiolos y desemboca en el Sorraia cerca de Samora Correia, en el municipio de Benavente, tras un recorrido de 97 kil\u00f3metros.<\/p><p>Su recorrido pasa por Montemor-o-Novo, Vendas Novas, Canha y Santo Est\u00eav\u00e3o.<\/p><p>Se puede acceder al r\u00edo Almansor desde la V\u00e1rzea grande de Samora Correia, a trav\u00e9s de las acequias, pasando por la zona de Silveiras, hasta Pombalinho, a trav\u00e9s de la zona ribere\u00f1a de Samora Correia hasta Porto Alto.
