The presence of Municipality of Benavente in National Agriculture Fair has a very positive outcome. On the Day of Portugal and Camões, Benavente’s stand in the Intermunicipal Community of Lezíria do Tejo (CIMLT) was always lively, with a strong promotion of our traditional festivals and gastronomy, with a special focus on the Benavente Roast Sardine Festival and the Lezíria Ribatejana Gastronomy Festival in Samora Correia. We had the presence of producers and artisans, with entertainment at the stand by the Revisteiros Theatrical Association “Maria Sardinha e o Manuel Sardinheiro”.
First thing in the morning, our libraries hosted the Story Time “Where things live” by Pedro Ferrão and Marc Parchow, in the Fnazinha space; the live cooking was very well done by the Recreational and Cultural Association Amigos de Samora (ARCAS), with beautiful snacks: lambujinha and gizzards (they were delicious), which will be served, among many others, at the Lezíria Ribatejana Gastronomy Festival in July.
The Benavente Roast Sardine Festival Committee 2025 was present, inviting visitors to come along to the big festival that is coming up (from June 26 to 28). There was also a sweet carolino moment, always appreciated by all those who visited us.
Mission accomplished and well done, there’s more to come next year.
